CHR roundtable promotes hospitality sustainability
As the hospitality industry moves ahead in finding ways to document its many sustainability initiatives, participants in the 2012 Cornell Sustainability Roundtable addressed current issues in reporting, benchmarking, the supply chain, and customer sustainability perceptions, as well as innovations in green operations. This year’s roundtable also included a student sustainability competition.

Fifteen teams compete in Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition
Students from fifteen of the top undergraduate real estate programs in the world competed for a share of $16,000 in prize money at the fourth annual Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition on November 15 at the TIAA-CREF headquarters in New York City. After first edging out the Cornell team in the preliminary round, the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) won the competition.

OEE news: online-certificate discounts and launch of first Cornell Advanced Program
This year give the gift of learning to yourself, a colleague, or a friend. The Office of Executive Education (OEE) is celebrating the winter holidays by offering a 25-percent discount on online hospitality management certificates during the month of December. The OEE is also planning for the first executive-level Cornell Advanced Program (CAP) for Hotel Demand Management, which will be held on campus, March 24-28, 2013.

A new cohort of students is preparing to share their entrepreneurial vision during the 2013 Hospitality Business Plan Competition, which will culminate in April. Of the 20 teams that submitted executive summaries in November, ten have been chosen as semifinalists.
