Tour of historic Statler hotel among real estate learning opportunities
Students traveled to Buffalo, NY in September for a personal
tour of Statler Towers, which is being restored to its former glory as
the flagship of the Statler chain. Owner Mark Croce invited the Hotelie
cohort to the property to help educate them about the restoration
project and about other real estate opportunities in Buffalo.

Cornell Hospitality Research Summit opens Monday with keynote panels, 80 presentations
Time is short, but a few registration spaces are still available
for the Cornell Hospitality Research Summit (CHRS), which takes place
October 8 and 9. The CHRS features over 80 industry and academic
presentations, plus keynote panel discussions by industry CEOs and the
deans of global hospitality programs. In addition the CHRS offers
innovative hands-on workshops based on spreadsheet tools posted by the
Center for Hospitality Research, which is producing the conference.

Taverna Banfi EDU events
The Statler Hotel’s renowned restaurant is serving up
sensational food and wine events for its fall series, Taverna Banfi EDU.
The first event, “Rosé from around the World,” was held in September
and featured wines from California, South Africa, Italy and France. The
