| Four faculty members win Ted Teng ’79 Dean’s Teaching Excellence Awards
In recognition of their outstanding
teaching and impact on students, Sherri Kimes, Michael Giebelhausen,
Stephani Robson, and Mark McCarthy received the 2012 Ted Teng ’79
Dean’s Teaching Excellence Awards. These awards were founded in honor of SHA
faculty members who influenced the course of Teng’s highly successful

| Dean's Leadership Series: "Expanding International Travel to the U.S."
By increasing international visitors to
the U.S., the hospitality and travel industry has a great capacity to
create jobs and spur economic growth. At the Dean’s Leadership Series on
June 14, six CEOs from leading hotel and tourism companies will discuss
the ins and outs of this key industry issue. The panel event will be at

| SHA leadership appointments announced
Three SHA professors have been appointed
or reappointed to leadership positions within the school. Robert
Kwortnik will be the academic director of the Center for Hospitality
Research. Jan deRoos was reappointed director of the Center for Real
Estate and Finance. Tim Hinkin will serve another term as the Richard J.
and Monene P. Bradley Director of Graduate Studies. All appointments

| New MMH class arrives
The Master of Management in Hospitality Class of 2013
arrived in Ithaca in May, ready to embark on the 12-month,
AACSB-accredited master’s program. There are a total of 65 students this
year—41 students will stay in Ithaca for the full year, and 24 will
spend six months in Ithaca and six months at the Cornell-Nanyang
Institute in Singapore. Read more.
