Alumnus Gives $1 Million to Cheri Farrell Scholarship
An anonymous alumnus has made a $1 million gift to enhance the Cheri Farrell Scholarship. The gift was made to honor the influence that Farrell has had on his life and to continue strengthening the financial aid program for noteworthy students. Read more.

SHA Launches International Hospitality Summit in Mumbai
At the first Cornell International Hospitality Summit in Asia, industry leaders and academics will examine the future of the hospitality industry in India. The summit will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2012, in Mumbai, India and will be co-presented by the Center for Hospitality Research. Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces is title sponsor of the summit. Carvell to Promote Hospitality Education at CHICOS 
Steven Carvell, associate dean for academic affairs, will be a featured speaker as HVS hosts the first annual 2011 Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference and Operations Summit (CHICOS), November 10-11, 2011, at the Atlantis Resort, Bahamas. More than 600 Students Participate in Career Day 2011
On October 25, SHA hosted Career Day 2011 and welcomed representatives from 57 companies across many sectors of the hospitality industry. More than 600 students took advantage of this opportunity to meet with recruiters and learn more about the various hospitality companies and job opportunities. More than 70 SHA alumni were among the recruiters who visited campus. Read more.
CHR Roundtables Analyze Boutique Hotels, Sustainability, and the Intersection of Hospitality and Healthcare Management
With the support of its industry partners, the Center for Hospitality Research produces a series of industry roundtables throughout the year. The most recent set of roundtables focused on design issues related to boutique hotels, the industry’s continued push toward sustainability, and  the connection between hospitality and healthcare.
