Concentration in Entrepreneurship Approved
The School of Hotel
Administration officially approved a concentration in entrepreneurship
in November 2014. With the help of the entrepreneurship faculty and the
growth and realignment of the entrepreneurship courses at the school, we
already have several students who will be graduating in Spring 2015

13th Edition of the
Innovation Network took place on November 9th at
IMPACT HUB NYC. Key leaders
from the hotel industry along with SHA students, recent alumni, faculty

Business Plan Competition Semi-finalists Announced
The
end of November marked the announcement of the semi-finalists for the
annual business plan competition. The following teams made it through
the first round of judging and will now need to write and submit a
complete business plan by mid-February. At the end of February, we will
announce the five finalist teams who will be presenting on March 21st
during HEC weekend...see more.
Celebration ’15 – Free Registration for SHA Students!
The Pillsbury Institute will
once again be a sponsor of the upcoming 2-day entrepreneurship
conference, Celebration, in April. This conference is put on annually by
the Entrepreneurship @ Cornell program. At last year’s conference, we
brought over ten alumni to campus to speak about entrepreneurship on two

Reflections of a Visiting Research Scholar
As a Visiting Research
Scholar this Fall semester of 2014, I have been immersed in a number of
research projects that have given me a deeper understanding and
connection with the three core facets of the Pillsbury Institute:
education, experience, and engagement. While conducting research on the
intersection of English learners and the respective implications for
university-level instruction of entrepreneurship with Assistant Academic
Director, Mona Anita Olsen, Ph.D., the Pillsbury Institute has given me
a new lens to understand the international student experience in
various entrepreneurship courses...see more.

Administration, the Pillsbury Institute supports the academic
entrepreneurial curriculum through three core facets: education,
