 As I write this message, I have just returned from the successful conclusion of the fifth annual Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition. I want to congratulate the Cornell team which placed third overall, but also acknowledge the student competitors from all fourteen teams for their excellent effort. The Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA) has awarded Qingzhong Ma, assistant professor of finance, the first-place prize for his paper, "Momentum and Insider Trading."

Undergraduate Real Estate Minor Continues to Grow
The undergraduate real estate minor has become a part of the intellectual fabric of Cornell University, especially given the fact that 340 students from all seven of Cornell’s undergraduate colleges and schools have declared the minor. Graduate Minor in Real Estate Gains Traction
SHA faculty in the Graduate Field in Real Estate approved a re-launch of the Graduate Minor in Real Estate at Cornell in the fall 2013 semester. The minor is an option for graduate students enrolled in any college at Cornell. The requirements for completion of this graduate minor involve satisfactory completion of 15 hours in three required courses and two electives. During academic year 2012-13 eight students were granted the graduate minor in real estate. This academic year 25 students have filed an application to be considered for the minor and another 30 have indicated an interest. |
